Gucci Bandana

I’m not sure when they made this video but I do know it’s pretty new.  All I have to say is “it’s about damn time!”  Love this song and love me some Soulja Boy Tell Em.   Please don’t ask why because I have no clue.  I mean other than his songs are fly and he reminds me of my little brother.  Adorable! And it could also be because he’s a millionaire at 18.  Sooo many reasons.

Anyway, I’ve loved this song since my brother introduced me to it months ago and I was hoping that he would make it into a single.  So glad he did.

His single “Crank Dat” was initially self-published on the Internet, and it became a number one hit in the U.S. for seven non-consecutive weeks starting in September 2007.

“Gucci Bandana” is on his album iSouljaBoyTellEm, in stores now. Support the kid. He looks just like my brother!

Enjoy! :-)

Not Obsessed With “Obsessed”

Obsessed Movie Poster

Obsessed Movie Poster

I get so mad everytime I think about all the other black actresses that could have gotten this role.  Hell, even Meaghan Good would have been better in my opinion.

Idris Elba’s new flick, “Obsessed“, opens tomorrow and too bad I won’t get to see him do his thing.  If Beyonce wasn’t in it, then yeah, I would be there on opening night.  The film, which also stars Ali Larter, looks like a modern version of “Fatal Attraction.”  Idris Elba’s character tries to protect his family from a stalker (Ali Larter), who becomes “obsessed.”  Beyonce plays his wife.

Beyonce is a great performer but an actress she is not.  Just by watching the trailer it sounds like she is reading her lines. Where is the passion? All that money and not one acting lesson?

Taraji Henson, Vivica Fox, Regina King, Halle Berry, Sanaa Lathan and so many more could have breathed life into Beyonce’s character and made this movie so much better.  Of course I haven’t seen it but if the trailer shows the most intense scenes then viewers are in for a major disappointment.

If you wanna hear Beyonce read lines from her script and completely ruin Idris Elba’s career then go for it.  This is another Beyonce movie I will not be seeing.  Too bad because I really like Elba and Ali Larter. Oh, well. Maybe next time.

“As if!”

Clueless Movie Poster

Clueless Movie Poster

Major news for all you “Clueless” fans.  According to reports in Star Magazine, there is a sequel in the works!

Although nothing has been confirmed, “Clueless” director Amy Heckerling and star, Alicia Silverstone was overheard talking about bringing the teen flick back to the big screen.

I hope this is true! Cher, Dionne, Tai and Josh are one of my favorite onscreen crews of all time!  Hopefully the original cast will get on board and deliver some more laughs and insight.  Paul Rudd is still hilarious.  Has anyone seen “I love You, Man“?  Pure genious.  Stacey Dash hasn’t been up to much lately (although she still looks like she did when “Clueless” came out!).  And I’m sure Brittany Murphy could use a check.

Let’s all hope this is true!

Supermodel, Naomi Campbell, was honored at the African First Ladies Health Summit by Sarah Brown.

Campbell has been appointed as global ambassador of the White Ribbon Alliance (WRA) following her Fashion For Relief charity work during the last year. The award was presented to her in LA by the Prime Minister’s wife, who is global patron of the initiative.

UK Director for WRA, Brigid McConville, says: “Naomi will be a great ambassador for White Ribbon Alliance because she is the embodiment of this great spirit of creativity, positive energy and womanhood.”

Another move at cleaning up her image.  Let’s see how long this “good gir”l image will last. Im rooting for her. Go Naomi.

Fantasia Barrino and Jennifer Hudson Can Sang!

I am officially convinced that Fantasia  and Jennifer are two of the most underrated singers out there.

During Jennifer’s show in Atlanta, GA at Fox Theatre last week, the two performed their duet “Im his only woman.”  Fantasia was the surprise guest and boy did she put on a show.

The talent that filled the stage that night was undeniable.  One would think a performer would be intimidated by Fantasia’s powerful voice and stage presence.  But not Ms. Hudson.  She, too, gave an amazing performance.  Her sultry ballads were the perfect balance to Fantasia’s raspy screaming.

Im not even a fan of the song but you know someone can sing when you get chills from watching a Youtube video.

Maybe if these ladies could get their style games up, they would get the shine they deserve.  We all know image is everything.

Check out the the lovely ladies put those other R&B chicks to shame

Miss California Has Beauty But Where’s the Brains?

Photo from Misscaliforniausa.com

So Miss California made a boo boo last night.  How could she have thought that answer was a good idea?

The question: “Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage.  Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?”

The answer: “In my country and in my family I think that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anyone out there but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think that it should be.”

Ummm, ok.  Hasn’t she been doing pageants long enough to know how to give a politically correct answer?  I mean, the classic “world peace” answer is a perfect example of what you should say to make everyone happy.  When your competing for the title of “Miss USA,” it’s usually not a good idea to alienate the millions of Americans that a question is about.

I probably couldn’t answer a question in front of millions of people to save my life.  But those words would definitely not have come out of my mouth.  Hey Miss California, here’s some words of advice for the next time you’re in a pageant.  Fake it till you make it.  Then maybe you wouldn’t have to worry about getting booed until after you’re crowned.  I’m just saying.
