Brooke Hogan does “Birthday Sex”

So Hulk Hogan’s daughter decided to record her own version of Jeremih’s “Birthday Sex” and surprisingly it isn’t half bad.

I kinda like it.

It could be because I LOVE  the original and her version doesn’t stray from it at all (except the addition of rapper Fabolous in the beginning).  She sounds good.  A bit nasally but, hey, that’s just the way she sings.  It could be worse.

I also like Fabolous’ verse. It fit well with the song and his version of the echoes are really cute.

We even get a little Jeremih himself at the end.

Brooke has had mediocre success in the past with her first two albums but if she sticks to a sound like this I think she has potential to do well.

Don’t think I will ever be a fan but I’m sure there’s someone out there willing to give her a chance. 🙂

bea arthur dies

Legendary actress, Bea Arthur, has passed away at 86 years old.

Best known for her roles in Golden Girls and Maude, Bea was battling cancer when she died at her Brentwood, California, home on Saturday morning.

R.I.P Bea.  You will be missed.

Beyonce’s stans strike again

So “Obsessed” is expected to open at number one.

It took in $10.5 million on Friday night and should take home $25+ million by the end of the weekend.

Ugh.

I guess we’ll be seeing even more of her horrible acting. I’m not surprised. Her stans (stalker-fans) will buy anything with her name on it.  Beyonce could release a recording of her grunts and moans on the toilet and her stans would love it.

MTB Finale a huge snooze-fest

I don’t really know how I feel about this Danity Kane issue.  The whole finale was a big waste of time considering we learned nothing new about the whole situation.  And, still, no one can tell why they broke up.  Here’s my breakdown on all the ladies

Shannon– Didn’t really get much shine on any of the shows because she just doesn’t have any personality.  And that whole “I’m the sweet innocent one” act gets old fast.  A reality show needs drama. She is beautiful, though.

D. Woods- I think she’s pretty but there’s something about her that’s a little off.  I hated the way she went off on tangents last night when Sway asked her simple questions. I’m sure their reason(s) for breaking up is complicated and therefore needs an explanation, but was it just me or did she say a whole lot of nothing everytime she opened her mouth?  She kept talking about seasons and foundations. Just answer the damn question! Ugh!

Aundrea- Seems a little too weak for me.  I’m sure getting fired by Diddy can’t feel good. But the other girls were able to suck it up and show up for the finale.  She is definitely in the wrong business.  I agree with Diddy, she doesn’t have what it takes mentally to make it and it would be the same thing if he was to work with her again.

Aubrey- She used to be my favorite.  When the group first formed, she was the prettiest and I just liked her style.  Not anymore. She clearly let fame get to her head.  The break up was inevitable after she decided to get all skanky.  Running around talking about loving porn and having sex on her period isn’t the image any one should strive for.  She clearly mistakes sexual liberation for being a tramp. I don’t think she understands how she comes off to other people. Oh well.

Dawn- My favvvvv!  I love Dawn. I think she by far has the best personality and voice.  I also think she’s gorgeous. Even though a lot of other people disagree.  I do think she was Diddy’s favorite but I think its pretty obvious why.  I’m happy that she’s going solo and I hope things work out for her considering the track record of Bad Boy artists.  I really wish Diddy would let her out of her contract so she could find success with another label.  We all know signing with Bad Boy is career suicide and I don’t want to see that happen to Dawn.  I’m rooting for her. With the right songs and the right team she could be huge.  I guess only time will tell. Oh, and I’m still undecided about the new hair cut. Maybe it has to grow on me?

I just can’t get into Day 26. I like Que but that’s it. Their songs are just ok to me.  I don’t know. Wish them the best I guess.

Gucci Bandana

I’m not sure when they made this video but I do know it’s pretty new.  All I have to say is “it’s about damn time!”  Love this song and love me some Soulja Boy Tell Em.   Please don’t ask why because I have no clue.  I mean other than his songs are fly and he reminds me of my little brother.  Adorable! And it could also be because he’s a millionaire at 18.  Sooo many reasons.

Anyway, I’ve loved this song since my brother introduced me to it months ago and I was hoping that he would make it into a single.  So glad he did.

His single “Crank Dat” was initially self-published on the Internet, and it became a number one hit in the U.S. for seven non-consecutive weeks starting in September 2007.

“Gucci Bandana” is on his album iSouljaBoyTellEm, in stores now. Support the kid. He looks just like my brother!

Not Obsessed With “Obsessed”

I get so mad everytime I think about all the other black actresses that could have gotten this role.  Hell, even Meaghan Good would have been better in my opinion.

Idris Elba’s new flick, “Obsessed“, opens tomorrow and too bad I won’t get to see him do his thing.  If Beyonce wasn’t in it, then yeah, I would be there on opening night.  The film, which also stars Ali Larter, looks like a modern version of “Fatal Attraction.”  Idris Elba’s character tries to protect his family from a stalker (Ali Larter), who becomes “obsessed.”  Beyonce plays his wife.

Beyonce is a great performer but an actress she is not.  Just by watching the trailer it sounds like she is reading her lines. Where is the passion? All that money and not one acting lesson?

Taraji Henson, Vivica Fox, Regina King, Halle Berry, Sanaa Lathan and so many more could have breathed life into Beyonce’s character and made this movie so much better.  Of course I haven’t seen it but if the trailer shows the most intense scenes then viewers are in for a major disappointment.

If you wanna hear Beyonce read lines from her script and completely ruin Idris Elba’s career then go for it.  This is another Beyonce movie I will not be seeing.  Too bad because I really like Elba and Ali Larter. Oh, well. Maybe next time.

“As if!”

Major news for all you “Clueless” fans.  According to reports in Star Magazine, there is a sequel in the works!

Although nothing has been confirmed, “Clueless” director Amy Heckerling and star, Alicia Silverstone was overheard talking about bringing the teen flick back to the big screen.

I hope this is true! Cher, Dionne, Tai and Josh are one of my favorite onscreen crews of all time!  Hopefully the original cast will get on board and deliver some more laughs and insight.  Paul Rudd is still hilarious.  Has anyone seen “I love You, Man“?  Pure genious.  Stacey Dash hasn’t been up to much lately (although she still looks like she did when “Clueless” came out!).  And I’m sure Brittany Murphy could use a check.
